The president of The Boston Globe’s largest employees’ union has been ousted for allegedly violating financial rules. A panel of five randomly selected Boston Newspaper Guild members on Wednesday found Daniel Totten had signed another union official’s name to his own paycheck, improperly used a union credit card, and refused to submit timely expense reports.

NEW YORK Formal internal charges were filed Monday against Boston Newspaper Guild President Daniel Totten, who stands accused of misappropriating money or property, violating the union constitution, and disobeying orders, the Globe reported on Boston.com.

BOSTON -(Dow Jones)- Members of the Boston Newspaper Guild, the Boston Globe’s largest union, will vote Monday on a new contract with cutbacks including a 5.94% salary decrease, according to the New York Times publication of an Associated Press report.
